Getting started

On the app home, click Turn on in theme editor. The theme editor opens App embeds with Compare products switched on; click Save. No theme code is changed.
Under Comparison table, choose the rows (price, availability, brand, product type, options, description) and their order. On Pro, choose 3 or 4 products side by side and add rows from your product metafields.
Under Settings, choose where the Compare checkboxes show (collection pages, search results, and optionally the home page and other pages) and which corner of the product card they sit in.
Open a collection on your store, tick Compare on two products and press Compare in the tray at the bottom of the screen.

What shoppers get

A Compare checkbox on each product card. Ticked products gather in a tray at the bottom of the screen, with a Clear all button.
A comparison window with the products side by side, each with its picture, a link to the product and a Remove button.
An "Only show differences" switch that hides the rows where every product is the same.
The list is kept in the shopper's browser for 30 days and follows them across pages and tabs.
Storefront text follows your store's language for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese.

Metafield rows (Pro)

Pick a metafield from your store's product metafield definitions (Shopify admin → Settings → Custom data → Products), or type it as namespace.key. Give each row a label; up to 12 rows.
Shopify fills in each product's value on your store, as text: numbers and measurements with their units, references by their names, true/false as Yes/No, colours with a swatch. Products without a value show a dash.

Themes

The app finds product cards in Horizon and Dawn and in themes built like them, including cards that the theme re-draws after filtering, sorting or loading more products.
If your theme's product cards get no checkbox, enter the CSS class of one card under Settings → Advanced (for example .product-item), or email us your theme's name.
Checkboxes sit on top of the card, and the tray floats over the page, so nothing on your pages moves.

Plans

Free: compare 2 products, every basic row, checkboxes on collection and search cards, the compare tray, "Only show differences" and the number of comparisons opened; a small "Powered by Mint Compare Products" line shows in the comparison window. Pro ($1.99 / month, 7-day free trial): compare up to 4 products, up to 12 metafield rows, your own accent colour, the most compared products report, no "Powered by" line. Plans are managed on Shopify's plan page (Plans → Choose a plan / Manage plan) and billed by Shopify.

Changing plans never deletes anything: your metafield rows and colour are kept and come back when you upgrade again.

Privacy

See our privacy policy and security policy. In short: the app stores your settings and daily comparison counts by product, and no customer data.
